Training on electric machines

Training on electric machines covers the operating principles of electric motors and generators, including an introduction to the mechanics of commutation and the crucial role of brushes.

Training on carbon and graphite

Participants learn about the different families of carbon and graphite materials used in various applications. The training session explores their properties, manufacturing processes, and impregnations, offering insights into how these materials influence the performance and longevity of electrical components like brushes and slip rings.

Training on brushes materials (carbon grades)

This training focuses on the selection and application of various carbon brush grades. It includes a detailed analysis of brush materials, discussing their characteristics, performance metrics, suitability for different types of machinery and their maintenance. Understanding these materials helps in optimizing the equipment's commutation efficiency and durability.

Training on applications

The applications module teaches the training and maintenance of brush contact, addressing environmental challenges and providing remedies. It covers practical aspects of how brushes interact with other components in electric machines, as well as parameters influencing the carbon brush behavior, ensuring optimal performance and troubleshooting common issues like sparking and uneven wear. It also includes the analysis of malfunctions by observing:

• for machines: the condition of the carbon brushes, commutators and slip ring assemblies ;
• for signal & power transfer systems: the condition of contacts and slip rings.

Training on technical modules

This advanced module includes mechanical preparation of commutators and electrical adjustments of DC machines. Training on operation and role of the brush, brush holders and commutators

Training  and analysis of machine operation (brushes, commutators and brushes behavior)

In this session, participants analyze the behavior of brushes and commutators within their machines, learning to diagnose common issues such as sparking, uneven wear, and other operational inefficiencies.
