Shaping a sustainable future

Committed to driving and shaping a more sustainable industry and society

The group is proud that 59% of its sales are for the energy transition markets.

Mersen enables the performance and reliability of industrial systems and essential infrastructure across a range of areas, from power management, rail and electric vehicles to renewable energies and storage.

Power management is a critical factor in improving power quality grid or electrical power distribution. Mersen provides reliable solutions – including cooling devices, fuses, busbars and capacitors – for the efficient transmission and distribution of electricity.

In the electric mobility sector, Mersen is at the forefront, providing key components that enhance the safety and efficiency of electric mobility, be it rail or electric vehicles.  And our commitment goes far beyond this.

We're pivotal in the semiconductor industry, creating more compact, efficient semiconductors with our high-grade graphite and insulation felts. This not only enhances manufacturing processes but also optimizes energy efficiency, contributing to a lower carbon footprint and a cleaner environment.

Mersen provides solutions for leading manufacturers in the solar, wind and hydroelectric power industries as well as the energy storage industry.  Our renewable energies initiatives reflect our ability to meet the growing demand for clean energy solutions.

1. Ethical and responsible business practices

Ethics and equality in our workforce

Mersen places great emphasis on the human element of our operations, ensuring that ethics and equality are more than just policies; they are practices lived out daily. Every new employee at Mersen is required to complete mandatory ethics training, establishing a foundation of integrity and accountability from the outset. This commitment to ethical conduct is reinforced by a learning path every two years for our managers, maintaining a leadership that is not only skilled but also principled.

In terms of equality, Mersen is actively working to balance the scales. We are proud to have reached a milestone where 26.4% of our leadership roles, including managerial and engineering positions, are held by women, reflecting our dedication to gender equality. We are setting ambitious goals to increase the employment of individuals with disabilities by 2-fold in 2027 compared to 2022. These targets underscore our commitment to an inclusive workplace where opportunity is based on talent and potential.

04. Responsible partner

Making responsible our supply chain management

Mersen’s approach on supply chain responsibility involves regular dialogue with suppliers, particularly on sustainability issues. A supplier self-assessment grid has been completed by our strategic suppliers, making it possible to assign a supplier CSR rating, with related improvement plans.

This helps improve the Group’s ratings in customer assessments and supports the development of the circular economy and the use of recycled materials, which is also conducive to the development of new markets and suppliers.

Mersen strives to select suppliers located as close as possible to its production facilities when feasible. This approach limits indirect emissions and strengthens the local economy.
