Unlocking the power of DC Current at DC World in Paris

Our participation in DC World, on April 2nd and 3rd, reinforces our strong commitment to promoting the development of direct current and supporting the energy transition.

The rise of DC Current

The way we produce and consume electricity must evolve to meet the challenges of the energy transition. For a resilient future, it is essential to produce renewable electricity locally, where it is needed, while guaranteeing its reliability and stability.

With the rise of the electric vehicle, the expansion of data centres and the development of connected factories, the demand for electrification continues to grow, requiring the transmission of ever greater quantities of electricity. This increase puts greater pressure on the grid, increasing the risk of congestion and blackouts.

Direct current offers greater energy efficiency and simplifies energy management. Unlike alternating current, which generates losses, it allows more direct and optimised use of renewable energies, such as solar power. Flexible, resilient and autonomous, direct current reduces energy losses, generates savings and limits the cost of raw materials, particularly copper.

Mersen's ambitions

Our mission is to design advanced electrical solutions that protect systems, keep people safe and preserve the environment. Thanks to our expertise in power electronics, overvoltage and overcurrent protection, as well as our historical know-how in direct current, particularly in applications such as railways, we support our customers in integrating reliable, high-performance solutions.

Our ambition is to play a key role in the development of DC networks by offering innovative technologies to enhance their stability, safety and energy efficiency.

Why DC World?

Mersen is already very committed to DC, and we are actively involved in the Current_OS Foundation, a global initiative that brings together 74 committed partners, including industry leaders, researchers, integrators and certification bodies. The foundation's mission is to define a global standard for direct current (DC) to ensure reliable and continuous access to electricity for all, maximising the integration of renewable energies and optimising the management of the electricity grid.

Our participation in this very first edition of DC World reinforces our strong commitment to promoting the development of DC and supporting the energy transition. This event is an opportunity to share our expertise, discover the latest technological innovations and strengthen our network of strategic partners.
