Our expertise
For many years FTCAP (now Mersen) has been supplying well-known firms with capacitors for railway technology.
With their wealth of experience the development engineers have been able to solve the typical problems associated with this application: these include cramped installation situations or the requirement for high resistance to vibrations.
In film capacitors the latter is achieved through solid soldering of the internal structure and optimal configuration of the single windings.
In electrolytic capacitors the internal structure with solid welding of the contact lugs and a highly specialized fixing elastomer achieves extremely good resistance to vibrations. Pins in the cap and in the bottom of the cup holding the winding securely in its position even at high oscillation frequencies. A specially developed cover substantially extends the life cycle of the capacitors.Leclanché precision capacitors are also recognized and in used in many signalling applications.
