Power Transfer for Rail

Mersen offers a large range of CCD shoes for electrical current collection in urban networks. The diversity of products allows to find the most suitable solutions for each metro system. The use of carbon allows to reduce friction, and therefore protects the power rail and improves its lifetime.

Current Collector Devices are used by Metro, catenary less tramway and electric buses. They are a critical components as they are collecting the energy from the third rail to energize the Electrical Multiple Unit at high speed all along the track.

On-board fuse boxes are installed on Metro, trains, catenary less tramway and electric buses. They are a mandatory critical components of protection.

Mersen is providing compact, safe and reliable off-load disconnectors and inverters. These devices offer high performances and robustness for heavy duty requirements with very limited maintenance and whole life of the train.

Mersen proposes a range of On-board resistance. Those resistances have the function to artificially increase the resistance of the connection point in order to “push” the current through the ERCU.

On-board connection boxes are installed on Metro. They are a key components of connection.

The Mersen lightning arrester enclosures are designed to protect railway networks against disturbances incurred by lightning, in the feeding lines in the substations along the railtrack (pole enclosure) as well as in the power lines mounted on the roof (pantograph enclosure).
